Dance in L.A. – Month
Dance Training in Los Angeles

DANCE IN L.A.
Our Dance in L.A. Month program offers dance training in Los Angeles for serious U.S. and international dancers, 18 and up, who want to train in the heart of the hip-hop and commercial dance scene. You must be passionate, focused, and ready to push yourself across styles, choreographers, and top L.A. studios. This is a curated experience and we hand-pick our dancers.

LIVE IN L.A.
So you want to dance in L.A., but don’t know where to stay?
Our dancer dorm gives you a comfortable place to live while you train. It’s clean, safe, and designed for dancers who need space to rest between classes. Living together also creates an instant community as dancers share rides to studios, meals, and everyday life in Los Angeles.

EXPERIENCE L.A.
Beyond daily dance classes, you will explore both well-known spots and local favorites like Santa Monica, Venice Beach, and the Hollywood Sign. The program provides structure for your training while still leaving time to experience Los Angeles on your own. Dance is the focus, but living in L.A. becomes part of the experience.

What dance classes will I take in Los Angeles?
You are given studio apps and dance class passes to explore the full schedule. You, the other dancers, and the dance captain choose classes together — it’s a dance democracy. You plan your weekly schedule as a group but check in daily so you never miss a pop-up class, workshop, or intensive.
Week one, you all go together so you can learn the studios and the vibe. In the following weeks, you can go as a group or split up based on what you want to take. You might love a choreographer the others haven’t discovered yet. It’s all about communication and making the most of your time in Los Angeles.
Who is the dance captain?
The dance captain is a former program dancer invited back on a scholarship to dance alongside you in Los Angeles. She is not a chaperone or instructor — she is your big sister and team captain. She has been exactly where you are. She dances with you, helps you navigate the studios, and is someone you can actually talk to who gets it. Our program is built on one idea: dancers help dancers. You are not dancing in Los Angeles alone.
Where do dancers live during the program?
Dancers live together in the L.A. Cultural Exchange dancer dorm, a safe and comfortable housing space created specifically for program dancers, located in the quiet residential Lake Balboa neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley.
When does the Dance in L.A. Month program run and how much does it cost?
The Dance in L.A. month program runs April through November. Dancers arrive on the 1st and depart on the 29th. The cost for the 28-day program is $3,998 – less than the average cost of a basic motel room in Los Angeles for the same period, and that includes your dancer dorm, 50+ dance classes, group activities, and a professional photo shoot.
Who can apply for the Dance in L.A. month program?
The Dance in L.A. Month program is open to female-identifying dancers 18 and older with a minimum of two years of hip hop and commercial dance experience. You must be able to do the choreography of your favorite choreographer – full out. This is NOT a program designed for true beginners, those who have not taken a hip hop class. Dancers come to L.A. for hip hop. Applicants submit a dance video and participate in a Zoom interview. It’s a relaxed, fun chat about dance, Los Angeles, and the program. A basic command of English is required. We welcome dancers of all backgrounds, nationalities, races, and orientations.
